We have had a lovely few weeks to start off our school year. The children have settled well into their new groups and are enjoying making new friends and working together as a team. We are very proud of them!
Class 7 have loved exploring the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff this half-term. Here are some of the activities that they have enjoyed …
* Acting out the story and adding a plot-twist.
* Investigating and creating bridges.
* Discussing feelings and things that make us feel like a troll.
* Counting out food for the goats.
We have been using lots of language from the story in the classroom too. The children have been playing games that involve size and family. They have also been describing the characters in the story, including the “horrendous” troll!
The children enjoyed watching the short film, ‘The Bridge’. They worked with partners to discuss what they would do if they got stuck on a narrow bridge! Take a look! https://youtu.be/ByBbUK4jJMg
We have loved watching the children grow in confidence and challenge themselves this month. What a great start!
