Today, we celebrated Diversity Day. In Nursery we read a wonderful book called “Marvellous Me”. This text allowed our children to consider how they’re different from their classmates, but how each of them are Marvellous in their own unique way.
We had a very special visitor in school on party day, every class had the opportunity to visit the grotto and they left with some gifts.
Our EYFS garden looked like a Winter Wonderland this morning so we couldn’t resist the opportunity to explore seasonal changes to our environment………… and to have some fun ? ❄️ ⛄️

Nursery had a wonderful visit to Acorn Farm, building upon our Understanding of animals and the natural world
In Nursery we read the story “The Colour Monster Goes to School”.
We discussed a range of emotions, the children described how they feel and created their own monsters.
We enjoyed learning how to balance a bean bag on our bodies whilst travelling.
We love playing and listening to music in Nursery with Mrs Grindley.
This week we have been reading Oliver’s Vegetables, we discussed what vegetables we already know and some new. To find out wether the children liked or disliked the vegetables we did a taste test.
We had a fantastic time visiting the Pumpkin Patch, we enjoyed exploring the big open field looking for different sized and coloured Pumpkins.
In maths we practised sending repeating patterns of balls along the gutters.
We read a story called “Kind”, the children completing a sorting activity highlighting what actions are kind or unkind.
During diversity day Nursery discussed the different emotions we can feel. We looked at some images of emotions and spoke about what makes us feel happy, sad, angry etc. Nursery then used a variety of different resources to create faces with different emotions.
The children enjoyed looking at a Map of Liverpool, we looked around our school and tried to navigate areas that we may recognise or have visited before.
In Nursery we’ve been focusing on the word “same”, the children have enjoyed playing and matching the same and not the same items around our classroom independently and adult-led.
Today we visited the Aquarium inside the Museum to further explore our under the sea topic, the children were able to first hand see different types of fish and sea creatures.
This week we got the opportunity to explore the balancing and climbing apparatus, the children showed confidence and resilience.
The children are showing a great level of understanding with their counting and recognising numbers. During this activity, the children independently counted the correct amount of flowers and glued it to the correct number plant pot.
