This Diversity Day, Reception explored the theme of friendship. We discussed the characteristics of a good friend and the times when we might need our friends the most. The children took turns Sharing why they believe they are good friends and the kind things they do to support others. We also explored the poem “ Alone” reflecting on how sometimes feel to be lonely and have friends can help us through those moments. To finish, the children worked together to create a beautiful repetition poem, with each child contributing a line about the thoughtful and caring things their friends do.
